She is on the forefront of the fashion design scene in the Gambia and is also the founder of the Jomm Project, a training program to produce an original Gambian textile industry. She is a self-taught fashion designer and female entrepreneur, operating her brand since 2014. Her brand is one of 20 small businesses to participate in Gambia’s first Start up Incubator Program – ran by the American Chamber of Commerce and she is also an Empertec certificate holder. She is also one of three Gambians to be nominated to attend the Global Entrepreneurship summit in Kenya hosted by Barak Obama in 2015. Her pieces have been showcased at African Fashion week London 2015 and 2016 and she was nominated top five emerging designers to watch for 2016. She has showcased in both local and international stage such as, the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) 2016.
