Fatou Ellika Muloshi is a third year student at the University of the Gambia (UTG) School of Journalism and Digital Media. She works part time as a broadcast journalist at The Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) as a reporter, presenter and production assistant. Fatou spent her teenage days combining academics with extracurricular activities and advocacy mostly focusing on child rights and youth empowerment. She served as president of Young People in Media and worked with other youth organizations such as Educating for Africa's Future (EFAF) and Care for Sexual and Reproductive Health (CSRH). She is currently the executive producer of Poetry Slam, and also co-produces and hosts multiple widely viewed programs like Good morning Gambia and Expedition Gambia. The 20 year old has reported on a wide range of topics including finance, politics, young people and social issues, she has also covered high profile events including presidential, and vice presidential engagements. Fatou is very passionate about the media and its important role in shaping our society. She hopes to inspire her generation and the next generation in seeing the media as a tool of positive engagement. Fatou has won several awards which include Most Versatile Student, Most Dependable and Willing Student and was recognized by Marina International in 2014 as model United Nations' Best Delegate.
